The activities of the EGTC are coordinated by the Secretary-General, assisted by representatives of the other two member territories. Decisions of the General Secretariat are taken after consultation with the other members of the General Secretariat.
The representative of the member territory holding the presidency serves as Secretary-General. The office of Secretary-General rotates between the members of the Euregio every two years at the same time as the presidency.
The Secretary-General performs the following tasks, among others:
he/she prepares the meetings of Board and Assembly
he/she assists the President in the exercise of his functions
he/she implements, with the support of regional administration, the Board’s decisions
To carry out his duties, the Secretary-General may adopt resolutions.
The current Secretary-General is Dr Christoph von Ach, representative of South Tyrol in the joint Euregio Office.
