A College of Auditors audits and reports on the financial and economic management of the EGTC, as well as its assets. This review is carried out primarily with a view to achieving a balanced budget.
The auditors have the right to inspect documents and records of the EGTC and may carry out any checks on administrative procedures that they deem necessary.
The Assembly of the EGTC appoints the College of Auditors for a period of six years. Each EGTC member appoints an auditor from among its own experts in economic and financial matters and covers the auditor's costs.
The president of the college is always the person appointed by the country holding the Euregio presidency. The current president of the College is Gabriele Vitella, who has been nominated by South Tyrol.
